North of Vernal, Utah on Hwy 191

Those distant hills stack up against each other as if they're right on top of one another, when really, they're miles and miles apart. The smoke from wild fires softens the edges and quiets the stories as they fade into the background.
I have some memories like that. It seems like yesterday, when really it was years and years ago when you said goodbye.

I remember so much about you, but with a filter that softens the rough edges.
