The Last Fall

After most leaves have fallen and are long gone, blown down the sidewalks in little swirling cyclones by the cold fall wind, a few hardy leaves cling to the branches. Their vibrant green has given way to a delicate parchment yellow. Still, they hold on in the breeze until their grip on life slips and they fall.
