Requirements for Classes
Point and Shoot Like a Pro
Bring your camera to class, digital or film.
Bring your owner's manual, if you can find it.
The class will provide an overview of basic camera operation,
and the fun things you can do with these features.
I will discuss creative functions that are included in all
cameras and some more advanced functions that are featured on more
sophisticated pocket cameras.I will explain what these
features are and how best to use them to make great images.
All of the principals discussed in this class are perfectly
applicable to a more sophisticated camera. So, if you own an SLR
and don't want to go into complicated science yet,
this class is a great one to take to start shooting better photos.
Many students start with this class to get comfortable with their DSLR.
Intermediate Photography
Your camera should have adjustable shutter speeds and f/stops.
It is desirable if it is an SLR, film or digital, but not necessary.
Bring your camera to class but be familiar with its operation before class.
Bring your manual in case you need to refer to it to follow along.
Once you understand the basics of how cameras work, you can apply that
to your camera with relative ease, especially if you have your owner's manual.
Composition
You don't need any special equipment. You need to enjoy taking photographs
and have the desire to take it to the level of art for enjoyment or profit.
Bring three favorite photos. They don't have to be yours, but you
should be prepared to discuss the images and why you like them.
The goal of this class is to learn how to move viewers emotionally with
your photography. That is the definition of real art, it moves people.
You can do that using your vision and some tools and techniques we discuss in this class.
This class will benefit all photographers, no matter what skill level. Composition
class is the perfect culmination of the other two classes, you learn to put the craft,
skills and science of photography into action to tell a visual story that moves people.
All Three Classes are Limited to Maximum of Six Students to allow
for some Individual Attention and Lots of Questions.
